Created in 1791, the trail was once used by customs officers - hence the name - whose job it was to prevent smuggling. To keep an eye on smuggling and the looting of shipwrecks, these patrols surveyed the coast day and night, whatever the weather!
Today, the customs trail is the star of the long-distance footpaths! For over 2000 km, from Mont-Saint-Michel to the bridge at Saint-Nazaire, it runs along the Breton coastline. Discover a new postcard landscape at every turn. From the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel to the Emerald and Pink Granite coasts, from the Abers at the tip of Finistère to the Crozon peninsula, from the Cornouaille coast to the Pointe du Raz, from South Finistère to the Gulf of Morbihan, from the marshes to the cornices of the Côte d'Amour in Loire-Atlantique... Prepare to be amazed by a festival of dazzling greens and blues!
